No matter which structure is adopted, the magnetic coupling between the split secondary windings is relatively weak. Therefore, the basic requirements for the split transformer are:  

    1) The insulation structure between the split parts of the low-voltage winding coil and the high-voltage coil must have sufficient electrical strength;  

    2) The impedance between each part of the low-voltage coil and the high-voltage coil must be equal;  

    3) When in use, each part of the low-voltage coil can be connected to the generator or the motor separately, and it can run at the same time or separately, and the split coils with the same rated voltage can run in parallel;  

    4) The structure should be simple, as close as possible to the structure of a split-coil transformer. 

    Of course, compared to ordinary (unsplit) transformers (under the same capacity, voltage level, voltage regulation range and number of stages, total loss and short-circuit voltage, etc.), split transformers consume more materials (including silicon steel sheets and coils). The amount of copper (aluminum), etc.), so that the cost of the transformer has increased.
